Superimposition with Exocad – Tutorial 1

Description

Here an example of how to integrate OBISCANNER in the digital workflow with EXOCAD. It is important for the dental technicians to model the restorations with a clear view of the integration of these in the face of the patient. With OBISCANNER this is now possible and it is extremely easy. Please take a look at the pictures, in sequence.

1. Import the .ply files (in colour) from your CS 3600 Intraoral Scanner.

2. Set the view of your master model.

3. In the Wizard, go on to the data editor.

4. Before to crop the project, move to the Expert mode.

5. In the Expert mode, open the Tools.

6. Select the "Add/remove mesh" function.

7. Import the "face scan".

8. When the face scan is imported, you can move it in the space for free, or register it.

9. Your superimpose it to the dentate models easily by selecting the "register mesh" tool.

10. The models should not move. The face should be superimposed on the models.

12. The first rough alignment can be perfectioned manually or with best fit.

13. The superimposition in now acceptable and we can start to work.

14. The pre-milled provisional resin shield margins are designed.

15. The pre-milled provisional shield is modelled by the dental technician.

16. After a few steps, the project has been completed and the restoration is ready.

18. The resolution and tessellation of ObiScanner are perfect for this purpose.

19. We can now mill our restoration with the fantastic Roland DWX-4.
